Pregnancy loss
A loss that often goes unnoticed by those around you, and is therefore lonelier still.
How it shows up
People often don’t know there was a pregnancy, or they console you with words that hurt: »you’ll have another«, »at least it was early«. The grief is real regardless of the week of pregnancy.
What we do with it in therapy
A space where the loss gets a name and doesn’t have to be relativised. Some kind of ritual, which this sort of loss doesn’t have, is often important too.
