Slovenia's new Act on Psychotherapeutic Activity: what it brings, what it fixes and why it was contested
Slovenia has regulated psychotherapy by law for the first time. What the Act brings, when it applies, what it means for users, and why…
ReadOne hour a week in which you are the only subject. Individual therapy is a regular, confidential space where we look together at what weighs on you, where it comes from and what we can do with it.
50 minutes · contribution €25 · in person in Ljubljana
Individual therapy is a conversation between two people with a clear purpose. I am not a friend who will nod along, and I am not an expert who will prescribe a solution. I am someone who will stay with you on the questions you would rather avoid — and who will remain on your side while doing so.
I work systemically, which means I do not see your distress as a fault in you. Anxiety, burnout or the feeling that you are never enough were learned somewhere — most often in the relationships that shaped you. Once that becomes visible, things start to move.
Conversation is not the only tool. I also pay attention to what happens in your body as you speak: where you tense up, when you fall silent, when your breathing changes. The body often knows before the words do.
You do not have to match any of these lines. They are simply what people most often come with.
Therapy doesn't run straight from problem to solution. We move through this arc, sometimes more than once.
First we put into words what you are actually experiencing. Often this is the first time it is said out loud.
We look at where such a response was learned and what purpose it once served.
We look for what keeps the pattern alive today — often these are solutions that have become the problem.
We practise new responses. First in a safe space, then in your life.
The first few sessions build trust. Without it deeper work is not possible — and it must not be forced.
We return to difficult subjects when you are ready. I will never push you where you cannot yet hold.
We work with examples from your week, not with theory. An insight you cannot use is merely interesting.
Every few months we stop and look at what has shifted and what needs more room.
Through the form or by email. You do not have to explain everything — what brings you and roughly when a session would suit you is enough.
Within two working days at the latest. Together we find a time for a session at my practice in Ljubljana.
It is for getting to know each other and commits you to nothing. If we decide to continue, we go through and sign an informed consent form together.
50 minutes, usually once a week
No hidden costs and no commitment. Payment after each session. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the appointment.
I am a trainee enrolled in the specialisation programme in marriage and family therapy. That is exactly why the contribution is lower than usual — and exactly why I review every case regularly with a licensed supervisor.
I am a marriage and family therapist in training and I am enrolled in the specialisation programme. I do not do this work alone: I review every case regularly with a supervisor who is licensed and has many years of practice.
In supervision we discuss the content of sessions without any details by which you could be identified — the supervisor never learns who you are. For you this means that behind me stands not only my own knowledge, but also the experience of someone who follows the work from the outside.
Scheduling is handled by the FDI Institute, where I am completing my training. To arrange an introductory session, write or call here.
