A thought pattern that turns uncertainty straight into the worst possible outcome.

How it shows up in daily life

Your boss writes »can we talk?« and within three seconds you’re already fired. Your partner doesn’t answer a message and you already know it’s over. There are no intermediate possibilities — the thought jumps straight to the end.

What we do with it in therapy

We don’t try to convince ourselves everything will be fine, because that doesn’t take. We practise writing, alongside the worst outcome, the most likely one and the best one — and then seeing which the body believes. Gradually, the range returns.
