An agreement with yourself about when the phone is away — held up by external supports, not willpower.

What it’s for

The decision »I’ll be on my phone less«, without a change to the surroundings, usually lasts three days.

How it goes

  1. Set two times without the phone: the first hour after waking and the last before sleep.
  2. Choose the place where the phone spends the night — outside the bedroom.
  3. Remove one app that takes the most from you, just for a week.
  4. Plan the replacement: what you’ll do in that time. Otherwise the gap fills itself.

Does some of this sound familiar?

An explanation is one thing, the experience another. If you'd like to talk it through with someone, write to me.

This is what insomnia taught me. What has it taught you? Traumatic experiences can leave you weakened — on recovery and strength. On the worries that drain our energy. On why differentiation matters in relationships. Self-confidence starts with self-awareness. On how hard it is to start — and harder still to keep going.
