EMDR
A method for processing traumatic memories using bilateral stimulation, most often eye movements.
What it means
While the memory is held in mind, the therapist guides repeated eye movements or another alternating stimulation. The memory remains; its emotional charge is reduced.
What we do with it in therapy
I don’t practise this method. When I judge that it would help you, I’ll help you find a suitably trained therapist. For trauma processing, the rule is that enough stability must come first.
