Stress
The body's response to a demand that exceeds its perceived resources — useful briefly, harmful over time.
How it shows up
Short-term stress sharpens attention and mobilises energy. The problem arises when the state doesn’t switch off: the body stays on alert even when there is no danger.
What we do with it in therapy
We work on both sides of the equation: the demands that can be reduced, and the resources — sleep, support, the ability to settle. One side alone usually isn’t enough.
