Movement and mood
Regular physical activity has an effect on mild and moderate depression comparable to other forms of help.
What we know
The effect is greatest with regular, moderate activity — not with occasional hard training. It works through several routes at once: sleep, bodily tension, a sense of capability and, often, company.
What this means
The advice »move more« is true and at the same time useless when the difficulty is precisely that there is no will. So we work with the smallest possible step, not with a training plan.
